Your bicycle tour begins with a guided walk through quaint Warnemuende, one of the city-states that formed the medieval Hanseatic League. Nestled on Germany's northeast coast, this early fishing village is now a popular resort town flanked by the country's prettiest beaches. Here you will receive your bike at the local bike rental. As you peddle at a comfortable pace, your guide will point out key attractions, such as the 19th century lighthouse and the Teepott building, a local landmark known for its curved roof. The center of town delights with its half-timbered houses, while brightly painted fishing boats bob in the harbor and a pretty promenade leads to sunny beaches and the Baltic Sea. Cycle on to the coastal forest of Wilhelmshöhe, a pristine reserve landscaped with a closed broadleaved deciduous forest. You will stop at the picturesque Beach Restaurant for a slice of traditional German cake and a cup of coffee or tea. On your return to Warnemuende, you'll follow an alternative route for more equally scenic views.
