Quench your thirst and satisfy your hunger for history (and fun!) with a four-hour pub crawl. From the pier, it's just a short drive to medieval Lower Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once off the coach, your guide will lead you through the winding cobblestone streets to each of the four cozy taverns. As you stroll along you'll pass beautiful medieval houses and learn about Estonia's beer-making heritage, which dates back thousands of years when barley, wheat and rye were first cultivated. Formerly a peasant-made concoction, beer became a widely popular drink in the 19th century. And today, Tallinn is a popular spot for enjoying beer and ale. You'll be treated to a glass of local beer (snacks will be served in one of the pubs) and before returning to the ship, you'll have free time to visit Town Hall Square.
