Discover the beauty and nature of St. Lucia with an adventure that begins with a leisurely sightseeing tour around the Island's West coast and ends with an invigorating volcanic bath (and an outdoor shower). Your scenic drive from the pier takes you through two traditional fishing villages and skirts the fringes of the rainforest. Marvel at the spectacular twin peaks of the Pitons as you descend into Soufriere and on to Sulphur Springs, site of the Caribbean's only drive-in volcano, which has been dormant since its last eruption in the early 1700's. Here you will visit the Mud Baths known for its wonderful mineral baths oozing with rich mud, which throughout the ages has been renowned for its therapeutic and curative properties. Empress Josephine regularly used the dramatic caldera of Soufriere for bathing. You will have the opportunity to take a wonderful natural mud bath in a hot mineral pool at the bottom of the springs. Luxuriate in the mineral filled mud and sulphuric air, which is said to have the ability to treat everything from skin ailments to arthritis and asthma. A knowledgeable guide will explain to you how to take advantage of this fabulous natural resource. Dark colored swimwear is recommended as the sulphur may cause discoloration. After your volcanic treat, you will head off for a cool drink at Morne Coubaril Estate. On your return to the port, you will stop briefly at Marigot Bay, a world-famous location. Here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the natural bay steeped in history and the site of many well-known films.
