Valparaiso boasts a laid-back attitude, winding streets and rich, colonial architecture worthy of its UNESCO World Heritage status. Dating back to 1536, the seaside city is divided into numerous hillside districts and you'll be visiting two of them during this day-long tour. The lower coastal section called "El Plan" is home to Plaza Sotomayor, dominated by the Naval Headquarters building and the impressive monument to the Heroes of Iquique. "Los Cerros," or The Hills boasts steep staircases, narrow alleyways, and winding roads dotted with fine mansions. Then, you'll disembark at the Fonck Museum, home to one of the world's most important collections related to Easter Island. Next, you'll travel to the seaside resort of Viña del Mar, home of the iconic floral clock and Cerro Castillo, the summer palace of the Presidents of the Republic. A brief stop to admire the exterior of the impressive casino ends your day. Lunch in a local restaurant is included.
