No tour to Chile is complete without discovering the cultural roots and history of one of the country's most beloved literary figures. Pablo Neruda, Nobel Prize–winning poet and diplomat, is not only recognized for his accomplishments but for his imaginatively crafted and acclaimed homes. Your day-long tour includes visits to two of his homes plus a gourmet lunch. From San Antonio you'll travel north to Valparaiso's Mount Florida, site of Neruda's home called La Sebastiana. Overlooking the ocean, the home serves as a museum filled with personal items and art. Following the tour, you'll be treated to a three-course meal and wine in a local restaurant. After lunch, it's a short ride to Neruda's home known as Isla Negra. Built to resemble a ship, the house features low ceilings, narrow passageways, and an "Under the Sea" room filled with shells, ships in bottles and maps.
