This truly unique journey into Britain's heritage starts when you meet your guide at port for a two-hour scenic motorcoach ride that takes you to Stonehenge, a 5,000-year-old mystical monument to the past. The some 24-foot-high mythical stones were fenced off in 1977 due to erosion, but you will be able to walk along the encircling pathway for stunning up-close views. Browse the visitors center before heading to beautiful Salisbury, named one of the world's top-10 cities by Lonely Planet, to view the charming 13th-century Gothic-style cathedral, which is home to one of only four original versions of the Magna Carta, dating back to 1215 AD. Stroll through the town, enjoy tea in a café (on your own), and browse the shops before heading back to port.
Special Notes:
Travel time to Stonehenge is approximately two hours each way.Guests are encouraged to download the free Stonehenge App, which serves as an audio guide in multiple languages to narrate the visit to the stones. There is free Wi-Fi at the visitor centre to download the app, or guests may do this in advance of their visit.
