Explore Maui's native forest and private conservation lands through the eyes of a local guide. You will board an air conditioned 15-passenger van to begin your 30-minute journey to the Maunalei Arboretum trailhead. On a 2-mile, roundtrip hike beneath a canopy of shade, you will set eyes upon a side of Hawaii you've never seen before. This personalized nature tour is designed for those who want to get a deeper insight into Maui's native landscapes, flora and fauna and water conservation efforts. Much more than a hiking tour, you will journey into the rich native forests of Maui and the ecology of conservation lands. We are passionate about all things natural, and at the end of the tour, you will be too!
Special Notes:
All ages welcome. Guests should expect to walk approximately 2 miles on maintained forest trail, with the first mile at an incline reaching about 500-feet in elevation. The 2nd mile is coming back down the mountain so should be prepared for steeper footing. The trail hike is over a 1 hour period of time with several rest stops. The trail width can range from 3-feet to 1-foot wide, so with those changes and the incline to the top, this tour is not wheelchair friendly. Guests should wear comfortable closed toe walking shoes, long pants and/or mosquito repellant, hat for shade, reef-safe sunscreen and a water bottle, although water is provided; walking sticks and ponchos are provided, should there be light rain.Details
