Visit Pu'uhonua O Honaunau, which translates to "Place of Refuge at Honaunau." This enchanting cultural site is a restored ancient Hawaiian religious sanctuary. Enjoy the spectacular flora and fauna and the tranquility that echoes through the area. Continue your drive towards Keokea, where you'll come upon the serene St. Benedict's Painted Church. Step inside to see the colorful interior decorated with dramatic murals painted by a Belgian priest. A wide variety of Kona's famous coffees are on display at the Royal Kona Coffee Store. The content of this tour is identical to KOA-200. Only guests using a wheelchair can book this tour, as it ensures accessible transportation. Due to the specialized nature of some lift-equipped vehicles, priority is given to guests using a wheelchair and one companion only; additional companions may be required to travel on the transportation provided for tour KOA-200. Bookings not marked with an accessibility requirement will be removed from the tour's inventory.The lift on the vehicle can accommodate a maximum weight of 500lbs; maximum wheelchair lift width is 30 inches. Kona is a tender port. Please be sure to read the "Accessible Cruising" information on the home page of Princess.com. Passengers with disabilities must contact the onboard Tour Office at least 48 hours prior to the excursion to ensure arrangements can be made to meet their particular needs.
The Painted Church is closed to visitors on weekends and Monday due to worship services; the church will not be visited on these calls and additional time will be spent at other sites on the tour.
