This delightful tour gives you the rare opportunity to commune with nature in a breathtaking setting of the Ketchikan rainforest. A scenic coastal drive takes you to rustic Herring Cove, where a naturalist will guide you along a forest trail past Alaskan cedars before stopping at an elevated boardwalk overlooking Eagle Creek. During spawning season (mid-July through September,) the salmon runs attract eagles, bears, seals and shorebirds. Then photograph a master carver at work, visit the fascinating Herring Bay Lumber Company sawmill and explore the on-site totem park. Browse the General Store or purchase a coffee or beer before the ride back to town.
