Cook My Catch is Princess Cruises' exclusive culinary experience highlighting the pinnacle of fresh seafood. Our chefs can cook and serve the fish you'll catch while on select Alaskan fishing excursions. You can choose your preferred preparation and accompaniments for your fresh-caught seafood and enjoy it for lunch or dinner. Your guide will meet you at the ship for a short walk to the marina for your license and proper gear. After a safety briefing, you're ready to board and cruise out onto the protected waters. Learn the secrets to catching one of the multiple species found on the deep-sea floor by working the sandy flats, drifting with Ketchikan's current, and jigging in waters as deep as 300 feet. No matter your skill level, you'll fish like a local and target what the day's conditions make available such as rockfish, cod, flounder, skates and the mighty halibut. Sit back with a tasty snack, admire the scenery and keep an eye on your reel and the occasional eagle, seal or whale. Finally, walk back to the ship with memories of a fishing trip in the world-renowned waters of Alaska.

Special Notes:

Minimum age is 5. Minimum weight is 30 lbs. and maximum weight is 350 lbs. Guests with medical conditions should take into consideration this tour operates in rough water at times. For the 2024 season, there is a daily bag limit of one halibut and effective July 19 through September 13 any halibut caught on Fridays must be released. There is a max lower size limit of 40" through July 14 and 36" starting July 15 with a upper limit at 80" or greater all season.

Alaska State regulation requires those engaging in sportfishing to purchase and carry on their person a State of Alaska sport fishing license, which should be purchased in advance of your tour. One day non-resident licenses are $15 per person. A king salmon stamp ($15 per person) is required if you plan to target or retain this species. Bottom fishing is done by mooching or jigging bait off the ocean floor, typically in 200-400 feet of water, while the boat is on anchor or drifting in one area. Each fisherman has use of their own rod and reel while fishing.

Your catch can be processed and shipped home for an additional charge as arranged by the tour operator. Because of its perishable nature and U.S. Customs regulations, your catch may not be sent outside of the United States. Due to federal regulations, your catch may not be stored onboard your cruise ship, but a portion may be prepared for dinner onboard.
