This debark tour offers a wonderful opportunity to discover three of Istanbul's most important highlights of the Ottoman era. First on the itinerary is the Blue Mosque, renowned for its architectural harmony and breathtaking interior, where thousands of blue and green Iznik tiles cast a mesmerizing glow. Next is Topkapi Palace, the seat of the Ottoman Empire and UNESCO site. A series of courtyards connect various buildings, which now house an astonishing collection of Chinese porcelain, treasures, the Topkapi dagger and the celebrated Topkapi Diamond plus much more. If you want to remember your Istanbul adventure, a stop at the Grand Bazaar is the ideal destination to find that perfect souvenir. The heart of commerce in Ottoman times, the bazaar boasts over 4,000 colorful shops making it easy to find just what you're looking for. Watch a carpet weaving demonstration then purchase lunch before departing for the Istanbul International Airport.
Special Notes:
This tour does not return to the ship and ends at the Istanbul Airport (IST).Wear comfortable shoes and light clothes. Your luggage will travel with you on the same bus. This tour is designed ONLY for disembarking guests flying out of Istanbul at 06:30 pm on debarkation day.
Guests must be able to walk approximately 2.4 kilometers (1.5 miles) in total over uneven and cobblestone surfaces, inclines and 40 to 65 steps. Due to the nature of this tour, it is highly recommended that guests with walkers or wheelchairs and for persons who have difficulties in walking, climbing, and/or managing steps do not take this tour, as this is a walking tour in Old Town and requires walking among all sites. Participants will be required to remove their shoes in order to enter the Mosque. An environmental friendly recycled bag will be provided to carry your shoes while in the mosque. The Harem section in Topkapi Palace Museum is not included in the tour. Some sections in the palace may be temporarily under renovation and close to public. The order of the tour itinerary may vary between coaches and/or groups in order to avoid congestion at the sites. This tour is designed ONLY for disembarking guests flying out of Istanbul at 06:30 pm (local time) or after on debark days. Tour Sequence may vary. Restoration works may be in progress at the Blue Mosque. Dress conservatively. Headsets (included) will enhance your experience.
