What you will visit:

Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens
Established in 1818, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens is the second oldest Botanical Gardens in Australia. Showcasing over 6,000 species of plants and blooms, both native and exotic, the 34-acre grounds feature specialty collections, a lily pond, manicured lawns as well as many historic structures waiting to be discovered. Tours are led by friends of the gardens along pathways (some with inclines), through a fragrant herb garden and past a unique cactus garden and many plants and trees found only in Australia.

What you will see along the way:
A drive through Hobart highlights this capital city's eclectic mix of natural beauty, colourful markets, historic buildings, and inlets, bays and hills that create this lively city's stunning panorama. A local drive takes in such top sights as The Cascade Brewery, Mt. Nelson Signal Station (if Mt Wellington is not available), the historic Battery Point, the sandstone buildings that line Salamanca, as well as Cenotaph military monument, Soldiers' Walk, the Queen's Domain, Government House and the lush Botanical Gardens. Enjoy seeing many of these sights as you climb to the summit of Mount Wellington for a photo opportunity.

Photo Opportunity:

Mount Wellington
From the summit of Mount Wellington, focus your lens on the stunning vistas of Derwent Valley and down to the Southern Ocean with sweeping views of Hobart.

Special Notes:

Please wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat and jacket, plenty of biodegradable sunscreen and bring bottled water.
Guests with visual or hearing impairments must travel with a companion at all times
A photo stop at Mt Nelson Lookout may be substituted for Mt Wellington in case of inclement weather. Walking is required to visit the Royal Botanical Gardens; some paths have inclines.
Order of sites may vary on the day.
