Your expert guide will point out some of the earliest structures of the city, as well as the famous sandstone buildings, still in excellent condition today. Hear stories of important characters, and review the old maps and archival images of historical scenes your guide will carry so you can compare the city from yesteryear and today. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing suited to the weather conditions; bring a hat, plenty of sunscreen and bottled water.
What you will see along the way:
The 1.5-hour route around Hobart allows for stops to admire city landmarks and heritage buildings and is enhanced with fun facts about the area and lively commentary. Highlights include St. David's Cathedral, the old jail and treasury, Sullivan's Cove, Salamanca Place, built for the whaling industry, and Battery Point. Admire Hobart's beautifully preserved Georgian, Edwardian and Victorian architecture as well as the famous sandstone buildings, still in excellent condition today.
