Nature lovers will thrill to this full-day Animal Planet Recommended tour that visits an animal sanctuary for Tasmania's wildlife, explores Mt. Field National Park, and features a visit to a sheep station for a demonstration of sheep-ranching skills. Your day begins at Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, where you'll observe some of Australia's most famous natives, such as Tasmanian devils, wombats, kangaroos and wallabies. Animals roam free in their natural habitats, and you'll get a chance to interact with many of them. Next, enjoy Mt. Field National Park, where a trail walk takes you through stands of the world's tallest hardwood trees to spectacular Russell Falls. Finally, at Curringa Farm, you will be greeted by sixth-generation farmers Tim and Jane Parsons. Here, you will engage in a unique farm tour experience complemented by a wood-fired barbecue lunch. A high point is a sheep ranching demonstration. Return to port with a camera filled with memories.
Special Notes:
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry have advised that any passenger visiting the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary must wash their shoes upon return to the ship for biosecurity reasons.
