On this delightful day of fresh air and fun, a scenic 45-minute drive brings you to the rugged hills, forest terrain and glassine lakes at picturesque Nuuksio National Park, a protected habitat where dozens of threatened species live safely. Arrive at the White Reindeer Hut, a large enclosed area where a pack of these wondrous animals roam freely. These gentle creatures are semi-domesticated and are usually found only in northern Finland. You will be introduced to the pack to learn about their relevance in Finnish culture and have the opportunity to photograph them and feed them reindeer moss. Enjoy a warm beverage and a pastry by an open fire inside a Lappish-style hut before returning to Helsinki for a motorcoach highlights tour on the way back to Helsinki for a stop at the Senate Square before returning to the pier.
Special Notes:
This excursion will operate in all weather conditions. Reindeer are located within a fenced area; typically there are a handful of reindeer at the location.Details
