Gear up for a wilderness adventure on the Takshanuk Mountain Trail aboard a four-wheel drive Kawasaki "Mule." Your tour begins with a short drive to the Takshanuk ("land of falling waters") trailhead. Here, you'll learn how to operate a Kawasaki "Mule," an automatic-transmission, four-wheel-drive vehicle. Crystal waterfalls and creeks greet you on your way to meadows at the 1,500-foot elevation. Spectacular views of mountains and forests abound, including a panoramic view of the Lynn Canal and Chilkoot Lake.
On the way down, you'll stop at an exclusive mountaintop lodge to enjoy a warm fire and a fish and chicken lunch and freshly baked cookies. After descending the rest of the trail, you'll board your motorcoach for a scenic ride along Lutak Inlet back to the pier.
Special Notes:
Maximum weight is 300 lbs. for participation. Guests wishing to drive must be at least 21 years old and bring a valid driver's license. Each mule is shared to accommodate up to four guests but can be extended to five to keep groups together. Vegetarian meal is available. Please notify Tour Office onboard at least 24 hours prior to tour. The Kawasaki Mules are easily accessible and have storage for oxygen tanks and collapsible wheelchairs. Guests must be able to take steps on and off the modes of transportation.
