Spend a day exploring the Irish countryside and monastic ruins. Your tour begins with a narrated drive through Dublin with a visit to Christchurch Cathedral before journeying south to County Wicklow, famed as the "Garden of Ireland." You will travel into the green and uncrowded Wicklow Mountains and enjoy lunch in the Woodenbridge Hotel and Lodge in the vale of Avoca. Next, you will visit Avoca Village and the Avoca Hand Weavers to shop for Irish woolens. Following this arrive in Glendalough, a monastic settlement founded by St. Kevin. The ruins, tucked into a glen with two small lakes, include the remains of early churches, a roofless cathedral and a well-preserved round tower dating back from the 10th century. Your tour concludes with a return drive through the Wicklow Hills and the rugged landscape of the Vale of Clara, home to the smallest village in Ireland.
Special Notes:
The return drive from Glendalough back to Dun Laoghaire is approximately 75 minutes. Glendalough is pronounced "glen-da-lock."Child Price:
