A full day of under-the-sea adventures awaits in beautiful Riviera Maya when you travel first to a "cenote," a natural sinkhole phenomenon, where turquoise pools of fresh waters provide an experience like no other. The ancient Mayans revered the cenotes, believed they were portals to the gods and named them "sacred wells." Here, you'll swim in the refreshing waters among stalagmites and stalactites illuminated by the golden sunrays from above. Continue on to a snorkeling experience, the spectacular Bay of Akumal, the "Place of the Turtles" in Mayan language. Here, you'll find a sparkling white-sand beach and the resident sea turtles that are a thrill to swim beside. You'll be accompanied by schools of tropical fish and surrounded by colorful coral. Afterward, enjoy a shore-side lunch at a secluded beach club plus free time. Return to the ship via ferry boat at the end of this exhilarating day.
Special Notes:
Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel and a hat. Apply reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen at least one hour prior to the excursion (no other kind of sunscreen is allowed in the water), in order for it to have time to absord and protect the reef system. To avoid sunburn, bring light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. No pregnant women allowed.Medical Restriction:
