With a history over 800 years old, the baroque Christiansborg Palace, commanding the island of Slotsholmen in Copenhagen, is one of the capital's most iconic landmarks. Your half-day tour is an opportunity to see how the monarchy has lived for centuries and affords access to areas otherwise closed to the public. Begin the day with a panoramic motorcoach tour of Denmark's capital city. See such unforgettable sites as Tivoli Gardens, the canal district, the Little Mermaid statue, and Amalienborg Palace. Arrive at Christiansborg Palace, a granite and copper extravaganza, and embark on a tour that includes factual and fun tidbits about each of the richly decorated rooms. See the Throne Room, the Royal Reception Rooms lined with magnificent tapestries given to the queen on her 50th birthday, and the adjacent Royal Chapel, a neoclassical building constructed in 1826 and used for ceremonies pertaining to the royal family. Relax on the return to port.
