Depart the quayside and travel to Stellenbosch, founded in 1680 and set in a broad, fertile valley of the Eerste River. Today Stellenbosch is a major university town characterized by Cape Dutch-style architecture. Its streets are lined with oak trees, some of which have been declared living National Monuments.
Enjoy an orientation drive through Stellenbosch with an hour at leisure to explore the town on your own.
The town's oak-shaded streets are lined with cafes, boutiques and art galleries. Your guide will be able to give you advice if you are looking for something special or simply want to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee or ice-cream at leisure.
After your free time in Stellenbosch you will board your transportation again for a short drive to one of Stellenbosch's famous wine estates. Here you will partake in a wine tasting and have time to wonder around the picturesque estate to take some photos. Return to the pier along the N2 highway.
Special Notes:
Guests must be 18 to participate in wine tasting. There are steps at the wine estates, this tour may not be suitable for guests in with walking difficulties.You may encounter paved walkways and possible some gravel & grass pathways depending on selection of wine estate
Many of the wine estates are closed on Saturday afternoons and all day on Sundays.
