Your two hour experience begins with a drive through the center of Kralendijk heading to the arid, northern part of the island, filled with cacti and low shrubs. It is here, where the winds blow, that your land-sailing adventure begins. Land sailing is done in a "blokart," a three wheeled pod on a custom-made track where speeds can go from 15 to 25 mph. The winds propels the wheeled "pods," which you steer by hand. No sailing experience is necessary, and instructors will teach you how to land sail in less than 10 minutes. You'll learn to tighten the sails to go fast and loosen them to slow down and how to manage the wind as you speed around the corners. Children as young as 3 years old can ride with mom or dad on the "double cart" for a fun filled family activity. Return to port after this exhilarating day.
