Lace up your walking shoes and set off on a two-hour adventure led by a Maine state-certified guide that follows a rugged trail through the dense, pine-scented forest to the shores of a rocky beach in iconic Acadia National Park, a 47,000-acre Atlantic coastline recreation area. It's a 30-minute drive to the trailhead located on the east side of the island, where your guide will introduce you to this great ecosystem. Set off to explore the local flora and fauna as you hike through verdant forests scented by pines to Hunters Beach, a peaceful, rocky cove, keeping an eye out for deer, porcupines, owls, seals and an abundance of other birds that soar above the treetops. An in-depth discussion on the natural history of the Maine coastline will enthrall you during your day amidst some of the finest natural scenery. Relax on your ride back to port.
