Antigua epitomizes the area's West Indian culture, and this 3.5-hour adventure reveals the best of the island on a guided panoramic drive. Journey through Antigua's countryside, past Falmouth Harbor through to English Harbor and historic Nelson's Dockyard, the only working Georgian naval dockyard in the world and a unique Antiguan landmark. Built in 1725, the dockyard served as the base for the English naval squadron patrolling the West Indies. Here, a National Parks guide will lead a short, informative stroll around the grounds, and you will have free time to peruse the museum and gift shop. Continue to Dow's Hill Interpretation Center and Shirley Heights, where a 15-minute multimedia presentation traces the island's history from prehistoric times to the present day. Then, stop to photograph panoramic views from Shirley Heights Lookout. Relax on the return drive that travels through the center of the island before arriving at port.
